Czech International rider Matej Kus has rejoined the club that holds his contract, the Newcastle "BTS" Diamonds, in time for tomorrow''s SGB Championship league encounter down at the Scunthorpe Scorpions.

He comes in to replace Lewis Rose for the rest of the season, as team manager George English explains: "Now we have received BSPA official confirmation today, we can reveal that we are bringing Mate backj into our side as a permanent replacement for Lewis, who we continually wish the very best to, and look forward to working with our Czech for the rest of the season.

"When you need a replacement rider it's invariably best to use one of your own assets, which Matej is, and he was delighted to resume his association with us after he had been dropped by Redcar last week.

"When he left us last time he had an average of nearly 7.50 per match, and whilst that figure has fallen recently, we firmly believe in surrounding he is happy to be part of again with our good team spirit in the pits with riders he knows well, this will boost him personally to reach out to achieve a much higher average, which we know he is capable of, once again , and that will only be to our benefit."

Kus comes with a wealth of experience including Grand Prix outings and several International matches for the Czech Republic national squad, and has had some magnificent wins on the Byker shale in his time.

Newcastle race at the Scunthorpe Scorpions tomorrow, Friday June 8th but have no home meeting on Sunday, the next event at Brough Park being one week on Sunday, June 17th against the Edinburgh Monarchs in the league for Kus' 2018 home debut.
