Disappointment after Diamonds lose heavily at locals Redcar

As the season rolls by, points on the road are still proving to be hard to come by and with Thursday's 55-37 defeat at local rivals Redcar Bears, local pride has now taken a dent.
Robert Lambert excelled, as is usually the case, taking 15 points from his five rides which included a doubled four from a tactical ride and looking dominant from the gate, leading his team from the number one spot well.

Steve Worrall too had a good night taking eight from his first three races, but a rare fall in his fourth gave him a zero return from that and maybe took him out of a possible Heat 15, but in his three successful races there was no doubt the quality scoring was always going to come.

Skipper Ludvig had a better road trip than of late and looked more like his reliable self taking a paid win in the last race of the night behind Lambert, but ahead of Ostergaard and Barker - no mean feat at all!

Lewis and Ashley found the going tough while Dan Greenwood - as predicted - found the cauldron of a local derby a hard ask for your 2017 Diamonds' debut.

Results have to improve as the boss confirmed.....

Team manager George English had to again look back at defeat, saying: "Again ultimately disappointing tonight. Why our form, especially away from Brough Park, is so patchy is something we cannot put our finger on, but the lads know if we don't start taking good points they those vital play-offs will get out of reach and with the side we have this year we deserve to qualify, but it's in their hands. They need to start winning away from home."
